With the slogan of "nurturing your talent", we are now opening the position of R&D Assistant Manager with the details as bellows:

II. Position: R&D Assistant Manager

III. Objectives:

  • Support R&D Manager in management and leading team to achieve department’s goals, including the implementation of testing, evaluation and selection of new promising hybrids, getting Cert of new products.

  • Support R&D Manager in preparing action plans, supervise the implementation till completion for all functional tasks.

  • In charge to conduct training to capacity building for R&D staffs,

  • Ensure the R&D tasks are in line with R&D strategy of the organization and meets with market’s requirements.

  • This position will have the opportunity to develop further to R & D Manager post in the future.

IV. Responsibilities:

Research and Development tasks: To support R&D manager in

  • Preparing and getting approval for different action plans and budget regarding the research and development of products.

  • Leading team in implementing and supervising of testing, evaluation and selection of new promising hybrids in house as per farmer’s requirements.

  • Planning and handling testing with the Government’s authorities and get Cert. of new hybrids and PVP of new hybrids.

  • Defining specific research objectives in evaluation and selection of new hybrids based on the market segmentation.

  • Researching and in charge of necessary procedures for getting approval for GM corn entering Vietnam Market.

  • Planning and monitoring the implementation of agronomic trials for new hybrids to enhance productivity of products.

  • Summarring and analyzing the Data for positioning and development new product for market micro-segment/segment.

Personnel management and development:

  • Compiling technical guidelines whenever the new hybrids are issued.

  • Giving technical training to R&D team, and other functional departments, enhancing the technical knowledge and practical R&D skills both in class training and on field.

  • Updating legal regulations and ensure all team members well aware of those policies.

Development of internal process:

  • Reviewing and developing the functional processes for R&D team to follow and comply with.

  • Cooperating with other departments in coordination regarding the related processes.

External relationship development: To support R&D Manager

  • Liaising with other Bioseed research locations outside of Viet Nam and learn new technologies for better quality and product of R&D activities based on specific direction from the R&D head.

  • Planning and handling testing with the Government’s authorities and get Cert. of new hybrids and PVP of new hybrids.

  • Developing and maintaining good relationship with local authorities for approval process and other related matters.

V. Requirements:

1. Education and Training:

  • Ph.d degree or equivalent experience in Crop Science; Agronomy. Management Certification, Certification in VCU, DUS, PVP, or a closely related field is preferred

2. Experience:

  • More than 5 years of relevant experience at the same position.

  • Having knowledge about GM corn and understand procedures for getting approval of GM corn to enter the market is advantage.

  • Ability to lead a team of Research Associates to conduct independent trial work and provide technical leadership to product and project teams.

  • Ability to manage mobile staffs.

  • Can travel frequently.

3. Skills:

  • Good organization and management skills.

  • Good Computer skills: Excel, words, power point.

  • Good at English (both writing & speaking).

  • Good Reporting skills.

  • Good Presentation skills.

  • Good Communication skills.

4. Personalities:

  • Able to work under very high pressure.

  • Flexible, aggressive, result orientation.

  • Supportive and service minded.
